The numbers have been reported, the officials have poured over the rankings and the final results are now published for everyone to see. The 2008 winning schools include newcomers and long time participants. 2007 Bottles and Cans winner, Kalamazoo College consolidated its leadership position by taking the first place slot in the Whole Campus Division Grand Champion and Per Capita Classic categories. In the Partial Campus Division, the Cal State San Marcos Cougars swept aside the competition in the Grand Champion, Per Capita Classic, Paper and Cardboard categories.
There’s plenty of glory to go around, however, as schools large and small across the country claim bragging rights on the state and local levels. Above all, the congratulations go out to all the schools that rallied their campus communities over ten weeks to reduce their waste and increase their recycle rates. Thanks for a great 2008 competition!
