The Per Capita Classic is named in honor of Steve Gaski of Miami University . Steve was an early supporter of RecycleMania at its founding in 2001. Participants compete for the coveted RecycleMania trophy originally constructed by a local artist from Carpenter, Ohio during the inaugural RecycleMania in 2001. The winner of the Per Capita Classic will have the statue to display for one year in addition to receiving an award to keep permanently.
